Cultural invasion, community security, and the protection of cultural identity An analytical study of Iraqi society in light of contemporary transformations
Abstract
This research explores the phenomenon of cultural invasion and its impact on societal security and cultural identity in Iraq, particularly in the post-2003 period.
The study examines how foreign cultural narratives and values have reshaped local perceptions of gender, identity, and community roles, resulting in a symbolic fragmentation of society and weakening of traditional institutions.
The theoretical framework relies on concepts such as cultural hegemony, symbolic security, and gender discourse, offering a critical analysis of how these forces interact in shaping modern Iraqi culture.
The findings suggest that cultural invasion represents a strategic threat that necessitates a coherent cultural policy to protect and revitalize indigenous identity.
