Abstract
The geography of services in general, and the geography of educational services in particular, plays a significant role in assisting the geographer in analyzing and predicting the reality of the educational region in Muthanna Governorate. The Muthanna Governorate educational region was studied, and it was noted that educational services are concentrated in city centers more than in the outskirts. In the district centers, we found that educational services are divided into several stages: kindergarten, primary school, and secondary school. Elementary, middle, preparatory, secondary, vocational studies and educational institutes are more numerous and concentrated despite their inadequacy in all aspects, whether schools, buildings, educational bodies or the number of classes. All of what was mentioned is more concentrated in the center than in the districts or rural areas, but it is not sufficient due to the large number of students in the centers because of the population being more concentrated in the centers than in the districts or rural areas. Therefore, the judiciary was studied analytically for the region of educational services for the Muthanna Governorate region according to the administrative units, which are the districts and sub-districts that make up the governorate’s educational region, where the data obtained were analyzed in the form of tables, and the tables were analyzed in a descriptive manner that clarified the form of the educational region in the governorate. Through this, we can know the extent of spatial variation in educational services in Al-Muthanna Governorate by analyzing the available data and observing the extent of concentration and dispersion of these services.
The analytical study of the data on educational services for Muthanna Governorate for the year 2024 has shown us that kindergarten services are only available in city centers and that villages and rural areas do not have a share of this service, and that each city center has one kindergarten, such as Al-Warka District, for example, and that some small cities do not have any service at all, such as Al-Karama District, which is affiliated with Al-Warka District, and some of them, such as Al-Rumaitha District, have only 4 kindergartens, and that these The service needs an increase in the number of buildings, schools, educational bodies and departments. As for the primary stage, it is available in the districts, sub-districts, villages and rural areas, but there is a shortage in the number of buildings, schools, educational bodies, departments and other services. As for the intermediate stage, it is also available in The centers of the districts, the regions, the villages and the countryside, but they are far from the residential areas for the students to study, so they need transportation service to reach them, and they also need additional buildings, schools and educational bodies to fill the shortage in this service. As for the preparatory stage, it is in the centers of the main cities, such as the centers of the districts, and they are also crowded with the number of students in need of buildings, schools and bodies The centers of the districts, the regions, the villages and the countryside, but they are far from the residential areas for the students to study, so they need transportation service to reach them, and they also need additional buildings, schools and educational bodies to fill the shortage in this service. As for the preparatory stage, it is in the centers of the main cities, such as the centers of the districts, and they are also crowded with the number of students in need of buildings, schools and bodies Educational to fill the gap in this service, as for the preparatory stage, it is in the main city centers such as the district centers and it is also crowded with the number of students in need of buildings, schools, educational bodies and classes because the number of students is very large. In some schools, the number of students in one class reaches from 60 to 70 and even more in some schools because some districts have one preparatory school. Also, the number of schools Only the Warka district center, while the secondary school suffers from the same problems, as for the vocational schools, they are not available in the villages and countryside, and even the majority of the areas and districts do not have any vocational school, and the districts in which this service is available are the Samawah district center, the Rumaitha district center, and the Al-Khidr district center, and the rest of the administrative units. In the governorate, it lacks this important service in building human skills. As for educational institutes, Muthanna Governorate has one institute located in the center of the governorate
