The research aims to shed light on surface water resources, which is one of the basic factors that directly affect agricultural production, especially palm cultivation, which is an important part of the agricultural economy in Iraq in general and the research area in particular
The Shamiya and Hamza district are among the areas that mainly depend on the surface water to irrigate the orchards of imagination, but the fluctuation in water resources has contributed to changing the cultivated areas.
The reason for the emergence of ancient civilizations in Iraq is due to the abundance of the water resources that Iraq is underneath.
Palm groves were negligent and destroyed as a result of wars, suitable for soil, spreading diseases, and weak means of supporting palm groves, as well as bulldozing large areas of orchards and using them for residential and urban expansion purposes.
The Shamiya and Al -Hamza district did not witness the establishment of any advanced manufacturing process that invests this national wealth in a way that enhances its agricultural and industrial position in this field, that interest in cleanliness, packaging and packaging of dates and supporting farmers with the necessary supplies. Marketing locally and externally has a positive impact on an insertion suitable savings for farmers, so the pursuit of this requires knowledge The reality of the areas planted with palm trees and the change that occurred in the Shamiya and Al -Hamza district during a selection and a comparison between this period to know the reasons for the change between them according to the factors available to these areasact
