Abstract

This research aims to demonstrate the touristic and economic importance of Al-Dalmaj Marsh, as it is considered one of the most Important economic and tourist projects In Al-Qadisiyah Governorate. It has the potential to generate significant economic returns due to its rich biodiversity and abundance of Important economic resources, most notably its fish stocks, which include many species, in addition to birds and agricultural resources. The field study revealed that the study area suffers from numerous problems due to neglect and the failure to utilize this resource in a way that serves the governorate's economic situation. Furthermore, the marsh waters suffer from high salinity levels resulting from low water levels. It also lacks essential services, hindering its development into a tourist and economic site that can be properly invested in. However, despite these problems, it has the potential to become a major tourist destination, attracting thousands of tourists from within Iraq and abroad, given its environmental, economic, and touristic potential..
