Intellectual Brilliance and Its Relationship with Academic Behavior among Graduate Students
Abstract
The current research aims to identify the level of intellectual brilliance and academic conduct among graduate students, and to reveal the nature of the differences according to their specialization (scientific/humanities) and the relationship between them. The researcher adopted the descriptive correlational approach as it was suitable for the research objectives. The research sample consisted of (150) male and female graduate students, selected randomly. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher developed two scales: an intellectual brilliance scale and an academic conduct scale. After verifying the psychometric properties of both scales, including validity and reliability, they were administered to the research sample. The results showed that graduate students possess a high level of intellectual brilliance and also exhibit a high level of academic conduct, with no differences found according to their specialization (scientific/humanities). The results also revealed a strong and statistically significant positive correlation between intellectual brilliance and academic conduct among graduate students. In light of the results, the research concluded with a number of findings, recommendations, and suggestions that contribute to enhancing intellectual brilliance and academic conduct within the university environment.
