The Legal Nature of Artificial Intelligence within the Framework of International Humanitarian Law
Abstract
This study examines the legal nature of artificial intelligence within the framework of International Humanitarian Law (IHL), focusing on its legal status and the extent to which it is subject to the rules governing armed conflicts. The research explores whether artificial intelligence should be regarded merely as a technological tool under human responsibility or whether it raises new legal challenges concerning international and criminal accountability, particularly when deployed in autonomous weapons systems.
