Intellectual courage and its relationship to job performance among teaching staff in schools for distinguished students in Najaf
Abstract
This study aims to investigate the extent to which teaching staff in Schools for distiguished Students demonstrate the trait of intellectual courage within the educational environment, and to explore its relationship with job performance. To achieve this objective, the researchers adopted the Intellectual Courage Scale developed by Richard W. Paul (2016), as well as the Job Performance Scale developed by Abu Hamad (2020). The study was conducted on a sample of 80 male and female teachers from the Schools for distinguished Students in Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf. The findings indicate that members of the teaching staff exhibited a good level of intellectual courage, with no statistically significant differences attributable to gender or years of service. Furthermore, linear regression analysis confirms that intellectual courage is a predictive variable of job performance. The researchers conclude with a set of recommendations and suggestions
