The religious taboo in the contemporary Iraqi feminist novel" A vision of counter-deconstruction(selected models)

Abstract

This study sought to expose and criticize the religious discourse, not the religious text, as it sought to make religion occupy its rightful place in society and life and in the behavior of individuals, their customs and their morals, instead of turning it into a mere pawn and a tool for political, economic and social warfare. It also sought through the feminist narrative, especially the counter-narrative. To shed the masks (holiness) of human thought and human discourse that sought to oppress individuals, exploit them, and control their minds and their future in the name of religion and Islam, by reading the texts in a new and different way, contrary to this human thought that does not serve a specific interest, and provided a critique of religious practices and interpretations that reinforce male hegemony and discrimination against minoritiesThe study revealed how literature, especially feminist novels, is a tool for changing and rethinking the reality of religious discourse, and how the novel contributes to reshaping individuals’ understanding of religion, and how religion can be a source of inspiration and positive change instead of being a tool for control and exclusion. It showed how religious institutions can play a more effective role in improving the lives of individuals
